Relatable plays are all the rage these days. But whether it is the result of us millennials’ love for realism or simply a sign of the changing times, they are definitely here to stay. And now Singapore is seeing plenty of these contemporary productions, with one such stand-out play premiering this September.
Presented in collaboration with Concord Theatricals Ltd., the new Love & Information will be the show that reopens Wild Rice’s Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre on Sep 9. Running till Sep 12, the play written by Caryl Churchill and directed by Edith Podesta will star 15 talents from Young & Wild, the seventh cohort of Wild Rice’s award-winning youth ensemble.
But this is no kiddy production, of course. Focusing on real-life drama, misfortunes and dilemmas, the show delves into a series of mini plots and conversations where everyday folks deal with familiar problems—think situations like couples making dinner plans to existential crises and more.
So grab your tickets to this fast-paced, kaleidoscopic play that will make you sit up and ponder our shared human experience; it will also be your chance to revisit theatres and catch a meaningful, thought-provoking show.
