How to recreate Lumo’s Skippy’s Shake at home

Many of you have not gone to a cocktail bar since the closure of bars and entertainment venues in late March. Other than ordering cocktails to-go, the next best thing is to make one yourself. So why not get creative and try making delicious, bar-quality cocktails yourself?

In this video, we paid a visit to Lumo bar at South Bridge Road (pre-circuit breaker, of course) to learn a thing or two about mixing drinks and being our own bartender.

Easy to replicate, Skippy’s Shake is a creamy and tasty beverage that utilises plenty of ingredients often found lying around the kitchen. To make, simply assemble rum (45ml); Skippy’s creamy peanut butter (two tbsp); vanilla ice cream (two tbsp); salt (two pinches); milk (30ml), Frangelico (or any hazelnut syrup; 15ml) and simple syrup (optional; 10ml) into a cocktail shaker. Then shake well, fine strain, and serve with a white chocolate bar.

If you’re feeling rather adventurous, try switching up ingredients like the white chocolate bar and vanilla ice cream with milk chocolate-based ones to get a darker, richer concoction.

And take it from us, creating this cocktail is way easier than whipping up your own Dalgona coffee.
