Singapore continues to be the cocktail capital of Southeast Asia, leading with 11 bars on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 list.
The prestigious list and several special awards were announced at a live ceremony on Jul 16 in Hong Kong, featuring bars from 18 destinations across the region. While the ceremony named Hong Kong’s Bar Leone as The Best Bar in Asia, it was Singapore that saw the most number of bars on the list.
Jigger & Pony at No.3 was named The Best Bar in Singapore, followed by Nutmeg & Clove which rose to No.6, and Sago House at No.15. New entrant Night Hawk made its debut at No.16, while music-focused bar Offtrack and Origin Bar were new entries at No.25 and No.32 respectively.
Native climbed 11 places to No.31, Analogue Initiative secured a spot at No.35, and Employees Only ranked No.38. Newcomer Fura (read our interview with owners Christina Rasmussen and Sasha Wijidessa) came in at No.42, while Atlas rounded off Singapore’s showing at No.49. Notably, Atlas won the inaugural Bareksten Best Bar Design Award in Asia, as well as the Remy Martin Legend of the List Award.
Hong Kong was not far behind with nine entrants overall. One-year-old Bar Leone achieved the remarkable feat of debuting at the coveted No.1 spot, clinching The Best Bar in Hong Kong title, as well as the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award. This marks the first time in 50 Best Bars history that The Best Bar in Asia has been a new entry on the list. The list featured 15 new entries spanning 11 destinations.
