Bring your furry companions, because the Woodleigh outlet is designed to welcome both patrons and pets. Spanning over 3,600 square feet, Surrey Hills Grocer’s largest outlet features a Mornington-inspired train centrepiece that playfully encircles the dining section from the ceiling, an outlet-exclusive menu, a selection of fluffy pancakes from iconic Melbourne pancake chain, The Pancake Parlour, and a dedicated pet grocer (within its main grocer) called Furry Hills.
From gourmet pet treats to premium toys and accessories, Furry Hills offers a curated selection featuring brands like Melanie Newman (premium canine grooming products made with natural ingredients); Freezy Paws (Australian freeze-dried raw food and treats for cats and dogs; and WAG (premium dog treats made from human-grade meat by-products).
In addition to the selection of pet-friendly products, the main grocer continues to house Australian brands that will excite shoppers. Find a wide array of products like Frank Green olive oil, artisanal ice-cream brand Van Diemens Land Creamery, and sustainable lifestyle brand Frank Green.
Outlet-exclusive menu
The Woodleigh outlet offers signature dishes such as Pork Belly Benny ($28) featuring deep fried pork belly plated with sourdough toast, house salad, lava egg and caramel apple puree; Wagyu Lava Burger ($32) that’s served in a sizzling skillet with decadent cheese lava; and Mala Hotpot Linguine ($32) cooked in a spicy mala broth.
For dessert, try two new in-house treats: Brown Sugar Chocolate Skookie ($24), and Crème Caramel Croissant French Toast ($20).
Or order pancakes from one of Melbourne’s oldest pancake houses, The Pancake Parlour. The Pancake Parlour Classic Stack ($18) is the brand’s signature classic, a three-tiered pancake dish adorned with whipped butter and vanilla chantilly cream. Alternatively, get the double-layered Classic Stack ($20), drizzled with maple syrup and topped with blueberry compote, vanilla chantilly cream and whipped butter.
Look out for the dedicated pet menu coming at the end of Nov. Pawrents can order the Chicken Meal mixed with cod liver oil, organic wheat grass and enoki mushroom; Duck Meatball made with minced duck, red cabbage and pumpkin); and Watermelon Ice Cream blended with coconut milk and honey. All are made with high-quality, human-grade ingredients.
