Widely known for their unforgettable Cantonese roast meats and recognised by the Michelin Guide for their finesse in Cantonese food, the time-tested Char Chinese restaurant presents local foodies with a refreshed menu of new creations and reimagined incarnations of popular classics just in time to celebrate their ninth anniversary.

Occupying a quaint conservation shophouse, the restaurant also recently renovated the space to immerse diners in a vibrant contemporary chic charm.

Naturally, no trip to Char is ever worth it without a taste of their incredible roast meat signatures – especially their top-selling Signature Char Siew and Crispy Roast Pork. If you can’t decide which one to go for, the Double Roast option gives us the best of both worlds with 200 grams of each meat on one satisfying platter.

Alongside all-favourite favourites like the char siew and roast pork, their new offerings include a phenomenal Mala Char Siew, adding a fiery touch to their iconic dish. Marinated with the restaurant’s house-made Mala sauce that comprises 13 different spices, the Mala Char Siew is an aromatic delight possessing just the right amount of kick. Alternatively, go for their Free-Range Soya Sauce Chicken, marinated with a special blend of soya sauce and Chinese spices, or the Free-Range Roast Chicken, infused with numerous spices and roasted till a golden-brown crisp.

Other fresh highlights to look forward to include the Cold Spicy Mushrooms and addictive Salted Egg Fish Skin appetisers, a punchy and comforting Pig’s Stomach with Anxin Chicken Soup, Hometown Beancurd with Minced Meat, and not-to-be-missed Okra Banana Delight featuring torched sliced bananas with sautéed okra.

Meats lovers can expect a novel take on the classic La Zi Ji with the Spicy Sichuan Chicken with Ice Cream, and a deliciously smoky Hobgoblin Pork Ribs marinated with full-bodied UK dark ale.

For a taste of seafood sweetness, look out for their stunning Tornado Butter Egg Prawns with buttery egg floss, Typhoon Shelter Prawns, Sambal Clams, and Dry Curry Clams. Then complement your feast with the indulgent Crabmeat Fried Rice or new Seafood Ee-Mian.
