Earlier this May, cult sandwich and doughnut shop Korio made a surprise return with a limited-time pop-up at Here Kitty Kitty in collaboration with Zouk Group (it had closed its outlet at Far East Square back in December 2023).
If you lamented its closure, there’s now good news for fans of the beloved sandwich spot – Korio will make a permanent comeback on Dec 11 through a partnership with Zouk Group. The overwhelming success of its pop-up had prompted its return, a new shop located at IOI Central Boulevard Towers in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District.
Korio was created in 2019 by husband-and-wife duo Myron and Shaz Tan through their passion for crafting gourmet sandwiches and doughnuts that celebrate timeless flavours and quality ingredients. The new 600-square-feet space marks a new chapter for this much-loved eatery, offering a cosy and inviting space with a menu featuring classic sandwich options and innovative Asian fusion creations.
Cult favourite Grilled Cheese is still a mainstay. American and cheddar cheeses are sandwiched between slices of whole wheat sourdough, while caramelised onions enhance the rich layers of flavour. Fan favourite Breakfast Sammy offers brioche slices spread with creamy gribiche sauce, and a slice of luncheon meat nestled in between. Other sandwiches on the menu include Biggie Croque, Tuna Melt, and B.L.T.
For those with a sweet tooth, there are the Brooklyn-inspired brioche doughnuts such as Cinnamon Sugar and Whipped Honey Butter, and Apple Crumble Doughnut.
The new Korio store is located at #01-11 in IOI Central Boulevard Towers, 2 Central Blvd, Singapore 018916.
