Elixir Boutique Roasters, formerly a laidback cafe in Bukit Timah, has been transformed into Elixir at Holland Grove. Co-owner Andryl Foo says it’s not just for coffee lovers – you can also relax while enjoying excellent food and great wine here.
Whether you’re stopping by for morning coffee, brunch favourites, or chilling out with friends over fully loaded pizzas and wine, it’s stylish yet unpretentious and buzzy after dusk.
Grey cement walls line the sleek 40-seater, accented with nearly 10,000 wine corks on the feature wall. Nightfall brings a playlist of upbeat grooves and a graffiti-inspired UV paint mural by local artist Jasline Ang.
Bring your gang because Elixir’s new menu by executive chef Victor Loy offers sharing options. There is a savoury and sweet brunch menu (8.30am to 3pm) with Blacklist Coffee Roasters’ coffee (from $4), which is perfect with Brûléed French Toast ($18) featuring Ispahan cream, roasted hazelnuts and dried rose petals, or Salume flatbread ($17) with nduja, sumac onions, mint and dill.
From noon until late, the menu gets more adventurous with offerings like Tête de Moine ($28), a nutty, tangy cheese topped with poached apricots and walnuts, and golden brown Baby Octopus ($16) with black aioli.
Chef Loy’s team relishes pairing unexpected ingredients from around the world into dishes that look simple, but taste great. The Cali Cali ($28) pizza with crumbled sausage, brassica, and chopped kailan over uncooked tomato sauce is one such example.
The white chocolate Ivory Custard ($14) or Pistachio Cake with creme fraiche and EVOO ($12) are also to-die-for, so save some space for dessert!
Drinks include old and new world wines, craft beers, and classic cocktails like Negroni ($20).
