Forget about what your parents said about not playing with your food.
At the Banquet of Hoshena held at Luce, InterContinental Singapore, guests will embark on a sensory adventure where flavours, emotions and magic intertwine seamlessly.
It’s a dinner unlike any other – and dare we say, perfect for epicureans who have become a little jaded with stuffy fine-dining menus.
Created in partnership with Malaysia-based DITS Asia group, the Banquet of Hoshena uses cutting-edge 3D visual technology, image mapping, experiential props and an enchanting storyline to create a colourful, fun and mystical experience.
Feast for the senses
There are three seven-course dinner set menus ($198++ per person) to choose from, but no matter which one you pick, every dish has been meticulously curated to correspond with the fairy tale that sounds vaguely like something out of a Disney cartoon.
According to the story, the Kingdom of Hoshena was a vibrant paradise until a prophecy arrives, warning of impending doom. “The Others” aka humans threaten to invade, bringing with them negative emotions like fear, anger and sadness. In a misguided attempt to protect the kingdom, the King inadvertently removes love, happiness and courage, leaving the land bare, dark and empty.
You are invited to “embark on a noble quest” to help restore the kingdom to its former glory. This means having to complete certain tasks at the request of the Queen of Hoshena. We won’t reveal too much but they elevate the experience where diners are transformed from being a mere spectator at the table to an active participant of the story.
Meanwhile, fairies, flowers and volcanoes come to life on your table as each course, tied to specific emotions, is served. Your plate will talk to you. The dinner starts with Pizza Souffle, featuring sweet Datterino tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala PDO, 24-month parmigiano reggiano, and Thai basil.
As the evening progresses, be treated to Textures of Celeriac, Angus Beef Tartar, Light Vichyssoise, Raviolo Aperto, and Slow Poached Halibut in Grape Seed Oil. Concluding the culinary odyssey is a decadent dessert of Cocoa Tuile Mille-Feuille, accompanied by Coffee Chantilly and chocolate ice cream. It’s a sweet conclusion to an unforgettable dining experience.
