Rejoice, anyone’s who ever had the hankering for K-nosh and soju in the wee hours of the morning, for there is now a 24-hour concept in the heart of the city catering to that very desire.
The joint is named Hansik Dining Collective, and it is founded by the folks behind pioneering Korean chicken joint Kko Kko Na Ra. Yes, we said collective, as the concept houses four restaurants and two bars within a charming 9,200-square-foot conservation shophouse on Tras Street.
Relocating from Tanjong Pagar to take up residency in the shophouse’s first floor is Go Gi Jip Premium Korean BBQ, which specialises in stone-grilled Iberico and black pork with a side of soy marinated raw crab, also known as ganjang gejang.
The brand will share its space with newcomers Halmae Gukbab, a concept centring around comforting Korean soups like Dak Gomtang, a heartwarming chicken soup similar to samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), and Hanyang Bulgogi, which focuses on other Korean comfort food like bibimbap, dombe gogi (steamed pork slices on a wooden cutting board) and of course, marinated beef.
Alternatively, those looking for some liquid comfort can head upstairs for a boozier dining experience. On the second floor, you’ll find none other than Kko Kko Na Ra serving up its well-loved Korean fried chicken tossed in a savoury garlic soy sauce, army stew and seafood pancake, along with two other bar concepts.
There’s Chung Sa Cho Rong, a more traditional Korean bar concept, and My Patio, another Tanjong Pagar import with a penchant for Korean craft beers and contemporary bar culture.
And though we did say that Hansik Dining Collective will be open 24 hours a day, that applies more to the three concepts occupying the first floor. The joints above them will shutter nightly at 2am.
In other words, you can party yourself silly until the early morning, before heading down to carry on the revelry to your heart’s desire.
Hansik Dining Collective is at 33 Tras Street Singapore 078973.
