Acclaimed celebrity chef Justin Quek has unveiled his latest culinary adventure with eponymous gastro cafe-bar Justin at Tangs Plaza. Diners can look forward to enjoying his Franco-Asian signature creations, ranging from modern and classic French recipes to popular local fare garnered over his over 40-year illustrious career.
The gastro-brunch menu features a specially curated selection of all-day signature dishes: Asian delights, Western staples, classic mains, bar snacks and sharing platters. Artisanal breads, Asian classics like homemade Foie Gras Xiao Long Bao and Prawn Noodle Soup are just the beginning.
Start the morning with the likes of Wild Mushrooms & Poached Eggs Parmentier ($28) with sauteed wild mushrooms, poached eggs, house-cured Iberico pork and thyme jus, served on velvety potato mousseline.
For Franco-Asian mains, Fresh Crabmeat Capellini ($30) brings together silky capellini pasta sauteed with fresh crab meat and herbs (rumoured to be one of the favourites of the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew). Crepinettes of Pig Trotters “Perigordine” ($42) features braised pig trotters, sauteed duck foie gras, wild mushrooms, and thyme jus on silky potato mousseline.
Fans of Quek’s Asian dishes can expect popular favourites such as the aromatic Korean Ikan Bilis “Myeoichi” Fried Rice ($23) with premium Korean anchovies, fried egg, cucumber, and Justin’s very own sambal sauce; while his homemade selection of dim sum features the likes of his signature buttery Duck Foie Gras Xiao Long Bao ($15 for three pieces).
More menu choices include the vegan-friendly and gluten-free Vegetables Platter ($28) with fresh Greek vegetables, couscous, asparagus, grilled mushrooms, capsicum coulis, basil oil, microgreens, and fresh herbs; or the Poached Oysters ($14/2pc) for fresh oysters poached with superior soy sauce, royal chives and garlic.
The all-day dining spot also serves as Australian brand Vittoria Coffee’s first and official flagship store in Singapore and the region. Patrons can look forward to the largest range of Vittoria Coffees and merchandise, including special cocktails created with Vittoria Coffee, Nespresso-compatible coffee capsules, and freshly roasted coffee beans and powder.
For those with a sweet tooth, an extensive range of baked treats, homemade desserts and a delightful afternoon tea menu await. Must-tries include the Freshly Baked Financier ($12 for 6 pieces); Freshly Baked Fine Apple Tart on Crepe Pan ($40 for four to six persons) with toasted almonds and salted gula java sauce; and the signature Pineapple Carpaccio, Calamansi Sorbet ($15) for spice-infused pineapple slices served with lime zest and calamansi sorbet.
