The full list of Michelin Guide Singapore 2024 has been unveiled. The eighth edition of the Guide features 283 locations, inclusive of Starred, Bib Gourmand, and Selected food establishments.
A total of 51 restaurants have been awarded stars (down from last year’s 55). Notably, four restaurants have been newly awarded one Michelin star: Araya, Chaleur, Matera and Pangium.
Meta, the Korean fine-dining restaurant helmed by chef Sun Kim, has been promoted to two Michelin stars. The two-starred category remains at six due to Waku Ghin dropping down to one star.
There are no surprises in the three star category, with Les Amis, Odette, Zen retaining their highly coveted position.
A second Michelin Green Star has been awarded to contemporary Malay restaurant Fiz. It joins fellow recipient Seroja in receiving the award which highlights establishments that combine culinary excellence with outstanding commitment to sustainability.
The restaurant, led by chef-owner Hafizzul Hashim, is lauded for its menu that is designed to give diners a deeper understanding of Malaysian flavours through a variety of spices and ingredients. The restaurant has also demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability through its sourcing practices, energy conservation measures, food waste reduction, and engagement with the local community.
In addition to recommending quality restaurants, the Michelin Guide also recognises talented individuals who contribute to enhancing the gastronomic dining experience. The 2024 Michelin Guide Service Award goes to Sufianti Susetyo (Fifi) from Michelin Selected restaurant Buko Nero, while Michelin Guide Sommelier Award is presented to Tomas Tapia from newly awarded one-Michelin-starred restaurant Araya. This year’s Michelin Guide Young Chef Award, which recognises a young chef working in a restaurant of the selection, and whose exceptional talent and great potential have impressed the inspectors, is given to Seth Lai from Michelin Selected restaurant, Ce Soir.
More new establishments have also joined the Guide as Michelin Selected establishments. There are 23 new locations, bringing the total number to 151. They include Food Street Fried Kway Teow Mee, Guan Kee Fried Carrot Cake, Maxwell Fuzhou Oyster Cake, Zheng Zhi Wen Ji Pig’s Organ Soup, Path, Podi & Poriyal, and more.
