Here’s the inside scoop: Swensen’s has introduced an international buffet concept located at Changi Airport, Terminal 2 Arrival Hall.
Visitors may remember it as a 24-hour Swensen’s restaurant before the pandemic; now it has reopened as Swensen’s Unlimited at the original location with a bigger space. However, it only operates from 11am to 11pm daily.
We don’t mind though, because this is a wallet-friendly place where we can indulge in an array of the restaurant’s mainstays, desserts and more (prices start from $31 per adult for weekday lunch; children aged four and below dine for free). Diners have 90 minutes to enjoy the buffet and its assortment of dishes, from time-honoured Peranakan and Asian culinary delights to seafood on ice.
Must-try dishes include Ayam Buah Keluak, Kueh Pie Tee, Beef Hor Fun and Laksa. Head to the live carving station, where chefs carve up sizzling roast meats straight from the oven. Think Roast Leg of Lamb, Roast Chicken, and the weekend-exclusive Roast Angus Beef Ribeye.
There are hand-stretched, thin crust pizzas prepared fresh upon order with varieties such as Margherita, Chicken Tikka and Trio Cheese.
Highlight of any Swensen’s restaurant is the ice cream, and what a treat the outlet has in store for diners. There are a total of 48 rotating ice cream and gelato flavours such as Sticky Chewy Chocolate, Thin Mint, and Cookies & Cream to outlet-exclusive surprises such as Laksa, Kaya, Cheese Cookies, Osmanthus Wolfberry Pear and more.
Accompany the scoops with marshmallows, waffles, and other sweets into the ever-flowing chocolate fountain. Make your own sundaes, banana splits or whatever you fancy. You are only limited by your imagination. Just remember to take what you can finish, and not waste too much food.
The spacious 200-seater venue also features two private rooms, catering to corporate functions or special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.
