We smell them way before we see them – the rich aroma of chai and their brilliant blends of spices have always managed to put us all in a calm and happy state before we even notice they’re around us. Previously just a highlight on the menu, chai takes centre-stage at Singapore’s first-ever chai café.
Casting a spotlight on handmade artisanal sticky chai, the Good Chai People presents a tastefully designed space where we can all enjoy flavourful bites and unique cups of chai, regardless of the occasion or who we’re with.
Owned and operated by Radio DJ Darren Wee, Good Chai People is the result of over a year of dedicated research. From perfecting the chai-making process to tasting over 150 cups of chai from cafés across 5 different countries, they set out to really grasp its complexities and variations before finally settling on their current offerings – cups of chai with flavour profiles that they’re sure will warm the souls of diners right from the first sip.
Able to accommodate up to 60 pax, the vibrant café also serves up hearty brunch and mains that delectably complement their artisanal beverages for a complete experience.
Amongst their highlights are the must-have Burnt Brussels Sprouts with nori and yuzu sesame drizzle, unique Mommy’s Spinach with Gruyère cheese, bechamel sauce, brown butter, and fried eggs, and lip-smacking Miso White Wine Vongole.
Mains to satisfy the appetite of any foodie include the fork-tender 24-Hr Beef Brisket, Prawn Chorizo Aglio Olio, and refreshing Yuzu Salmon Open-Faced Toast, before you indulge in the decadent French Toast Lovin’ – featuring thick Brioche French toast, whipped cream cheese, homemade berries compote, and a maple thyme drizzle – to cap the meal off on an unforgettable note.
Platters of cheese, meat, pasta, and bite-sized snacks are also available for bigger groups to share and bond over.
