This year, Crystal Jade joins hands with Lemuel Chocolate in the crafting of two out of four of its new snowskin creations. Swensen’s new moon ice cream cakes ($68.80, 940g) are unlike any other mooncakes, resembling, well, the actual moon complete with craters and all. The Super Moon Ice Cream Cake is a nod to the orangey-red glow of the spectacular space rock in actual supermoon events. Beyond the golden chocolate shell is Swensen’s iconic Sticky Chewy Chocolate ice cream and a decadent salted egg yolk bon bon as its core.
The Micro Moon Ice Cream Cake pays homage to micromoon events when the full moon is at the point furthest to us during its orbit around the Earth, hence appearing smaller.
