Wallich Manor by Tipsy Collective is the newest addition to Sofitel City Centre, a place that blends cheekiness, sophistication and necessary indulgences that the CBD crowd and other partygoers won’t find elsewhere.
Spanning 635 square feet with room for up to 100 guests, the party hotspot has slight Saltburn vibes (the psychological gothic thriller on Prime Video that set tongues wagging over some hard-to-watch scenes) but is relaxed enough to allow patrons to be themselves.
After all, the heart of the Manor’s concept is Wallich the 9th, a fictional persona with a rebellious yet refined nature. The space is where he hosts “the most exceptional soirees for his eclectic friends” and where “all guests are invited to savour life’s most exquisite pleasures at his spectacular manor”.
You might hear “Murder on the Dance Floor” but don’t worry, no one’s stripping naked. Just expect plenty of carefree dance moves by overworked executives letting their hair down.
Eat, dance, party
For gastronomes, Wallich Manor boasts a uniquely varied menu of contemporary European cuisine with specialties like Traditional Chicken Mousse ($16++) with pistachio crumble, brown butter, and glass bread, Wallich Cheese & Brioche ($24++) with camembert cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and black truffles, Onion Tartlet ($12++/3 pieces) with Avruga caviar, and Grilled Octopus and Porridge ($38++), consisting of octopus tentacles, sweet pea porridge, Hokkaido scallops, and scampi ketchup.
As for meat, there is enough on the menu to satisfy carnivores. The Wagyu Beef Rump Cap MBS 9 from Robbins Island ($48++, 120g) and Wallich Prime Beef Rib ($108++, 600g) are as excellent as the Prized Spanish Pork ($38++), served with garlic chives, mussels, and EVOO.
Complement your meal with expertly crafted cocktails created by award-winning bartender Mohamed Azlam, a recipient of the Singapore Tourism Award 2023 in the category of Customer Service Excellence for Nightspots.
Wildstyle ($24++), featuring orange, passionfruit, and vanilla flavours, should spice up your evening with a flamboyant twist. A refreshing sour concoction, Mockingbird Tequila ($24++) combines Olmeca Altos tequila, Aperol, creme de cassis, ginger tincture, grapefruit, and London Essence Soda Water.
With chrysanthemum-infused pisco, Campari, apricot, honey ginger, citrus, and lavender bitters, the Butterfly Effect ($24++) is another sour gem. Want a sweet finish? Holy Smokes ($26++) is a blend of Naked Malt whisky and green chartreuse, while Funky Bourbon ($26++), which gets its name from the balsamic fig vinegar, is a must-try.
High-intensity punch bowls, like Cacao Made Me Do It ($288++) with cacao-infused Nikka Coffey Malt, Mancino Chinato, creme de cacao, vanilla and Champagne, are great for large get-togethers and will keep the party going past 10pm.
There’s also a good chance you’ll catch some of your favourite local and international artists performing here. Helmed by Wayne Liu aka DJ KoFlow, a leading figure in Singapore’s hip-hop scene, Wallich Manor regularly presents a diverse line-up of international and local acts.
Expect guest appearances by renowned DJs such as DJ Total Eclipse (a member of The X-Ecutioners, one of the world’s premier turntablist groups) and DJ Cash Money, the first inductee into the DJ Hall of Fame famous for producing hits for hip-hop icons like Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Public Enemy.
Wallich Manor is at 9 Wallich St, Sofitel Singapore City Centre, Level 6, Singapore 078885.
