YUN NANS debuts Singapore’s first Stonepot Fish experience

Since their arrival in Singapore a little over 3 years ago, YUN NANS has quickly won over the hearts and tummies of local gourmands with their delicious ethnic highland cuisines. A product of China’s largest Yunnan restaurant chain, they now introduce Singapore’s first stonepot fish concept with the opening of their latest YUN NANS Stonepot Fish outlet at Northpoint City.

Capturing the best flavours afforded by the freshest fish, the restaurant presents a taste of fish unlike any other you’ve tried before. Pressure-steaming live fish in a stone pot made of natural granite, they ensure that nothing is lost in the process, resulting in a hearty pot of naturally sweet and collagen-rich fish soup.

Directly imported from Yunnan, every granite stone pot in YUN NANS Stonepot Fish is specially handcrafted for the restaurant. Making use of the stone’s natural ability to retain and distribute heat evenly, the unique cooking method also utilises a handcrafted straw hat that doubles as the pot’s lid, keeping the steam at a controlled temperature. If that’s not enough, this high pressure steaming method is also completely smokeless!

Sustainably sourced from local farms, the fishes used at YUN NANS Stonepot Fish are picked live, freshly culled and cleaned right before being placed into the stone pot in front of diners. Take your pick from their selection of Seabass, Patin, and Soon Hock.

There’re also two signature soup bases to choose from: the rich Collagen Fish Soup, simmered for over six hours with dried scallops, salmon fish head and bones, old hen, Solomon’s Seal and more, and the tasty Wild Mushroom Soup, gently brewed for three hours with Yunnan’s Shangri-La Matsutake mushrooms, Yunnan ham, pork bones, cordyceps mushrooms, as well as a whole lot more.

For fans of Yunnan cuisine, look forward to new items on the menu such as Crispy Barramundi Collar, Grilled Clams with Spicy Garlic Sauce, and a Fragrant Scallion Rice to complement your stonepot fish meal.
