I've waited all year for Osunlade to drop by our shores again. This high-priest of house whose Yoruba-styled tunes have influenced many a DJ, hipster and scenester in the scene. Of course, many house music disciples came down to VU last Friday to pay homage to the Ifa priest's soulful and organic sounds.

One of the privileges and obligations of being in the media is attending THE EVENT. And events were aplenty yesterday--from an ION Sky Charity Christmas do, a M1 Christmas Cocktail mixer at OverEasy and the launch of new web portal CityNomads to party girl Tracy P's A Curious Teepee store launch, Overtime bar opening at Dempsey and an adidas shoe launch. 

What's one way to get journos like us to write about moderate drinking campaigns? Invite them out to a round of drinks at the bar. And that was exactly what Pernod Ricard's PRs did. 
The place: Chupitos Bar
The setup: It's just me against a fiery round of booze and two PRs. The rest of the other journos chickened out after knowing the stakes involved... at least I would like to think so.

Yes. We waited all year for it and like a deluge of aural and visual goodness, it came. And it came damn hard. While pundits and some hardcore ZoukOuters may have lamented at the lacklustre line-up of jocks that may have headlined this years party, they duly ate up their words (especially when Tiesto and David Guetta became headliners) and danced the night through from the word go. Well, who wouldn't?
