There's hope for Pearl Bank Apartments.

One of Singapore's most recognizable buildings, the 40 year-old Pearl Bank Apartments might soon be getting conservation status, according to a story by Channel News Asia. To help pay for refurbishments and upgrades to the building, the management is organizing all residents (they need 100% agreement) to apply.
Winning conservation status would be a first for an apartment building in Singapore and would mean extra floor area, a new rooftop garden and swimming pool. Oh and, there are talks about extending the 99-year lease. Throw in an atas hawker center on the first floor, and you've got the makings of your next hipster pad.
Here's hoping that this apartment remains a part of the city skyline.
