4 National Gallery Singapore events for everyone
Even if you don't like art, there's still something for you.
Even if you don't like art, there's still something for you.
The National Gallery opens on Nov 24 with lots of events to participate in. We've already put together a list of three cool events to catch, but what do you do if you're an art newbie? Here are some fun options that are easy on the brain.
From 2-4:30pm, each of the gallery's curators will talk about one work of art, why it's important, and how these themes have evolved from the 19th century to present day. This is best for people who don't really get local art but would like to know more about the pioneer painters, so you may expect a crash course on work by artists Georgette Chen and Cheong Soo Pieng.
If you fancy yourself a sketchbook artist, register here for the Quick Perspectives workshop, which will be held from Dec 1, 3 and 5, on the rooftop studio. You'll learn how to make quick sketches at this one. And if you're really interested, the Mark Making Tools workshop held on Nov 30, Dec 2, 4 and 6 will also teach you how to make your own sketching tools. Both workshops require prior registration and are held from 2pm-6pm.
