Make like a dog with two tails this Chinese New Year, because Amara Singapore is paying homage to the year of the Earth Dog with a feast fit for an emperor and an oh-so unique yu sheng special (but more on that later).

This year’s feast has been carefully conceptualized and prepared by a team of dedicated Chinese chefs; tuck into dishes symbolic of prosperity, fortune and happiness with your family and relatives, because we all know there’s no better way to usher in the Lunar New Year than with good food and company.

Open for a one-time dinner special from 6pm on 15^th February in their Grand Ballroom, take your reunion dinner to the next level with two affordable eight-course menus. The Golden Prosperity ($88 per person with a minimum of six people per table) boasts mouthwatering dishes including braised fish maw broth with sea cucumber, crab meat and shredded abalone, sautéed scallops in XO sauce, signature roast duck with dang gui sauce and wok-fried abalone with black moss, Chinese mushrooms and vegetables. The Joyous Abundance ($68 per person with a minimum of six people per table) features favorites like the shredded abalone and seafood soup, steamed seabass and steamed live prawns.

If you’re feeling particularly fortuitous this year, go all out with the Imperial Fortune package ($1,888 for a table of 10), featuring delectable Chinese classics like sea urchin, black chicken ginseng soup and cod fish, served in a posh, private dining setting. The rooms even come equipped with a family karaoke system for a spot of family bonding. To mark this wonderful evening, the Amara is treating every guest to their special rendition of a classic Chinese festive dessert—a Pomelo Tangyuan sprinkled with edible gold leaves.

But no reunion dinner is complete without the customary tossing of the yu sheng, and this year, you’ll want to have Instagram at the ready, because their salmon yu sheng will feature ingredients perfectly arranged in the shape of—you guessed it—a dog.

While you feast, you’ll also be treated to entertainment—think a lively lion dance performance of “Cai Qing” (plucking of the greens), photo ops with adorable God of Fortune mascots (they’ll be handing out chocolate gold ingots too) and a classic Chinese art performance, the Bian Lian (face changing), as part of an exciting program line up.
