Best part: satisfy your cravings anytime of day at this 24-hour lounge

A high-tea destination by day, an intimate bar and lounge by night, Marina Bay Sands’ (MBS) latest F&B fixture Renku Bar & Lounge takes you on an eclectic culinary journey round the clock. Read: it’s the only lounge in the hotel that operates 24 hours, and is certain to whet your appetite with its unique offerings, no matter what time of day you swing by.

Nestled in the grand hotel lobby , the ambience at Renku is both relaxed yet heightened by its iconic surroundings. It’s also just steps away from MBS’ outdoor RISE Herb Garden, where many freshly harvested herbs find their way into Renku’s delicate creations.

As its name suggests, Renku offers poetic Asian interpretations, with a subtle blending of Asian flavours across its signature teas, cocktails and dishes.

By day, fans of tea will be chuffed by Renku’s tea selections that are part of its revolutionary high-tea offering available for two seatings daily. For starters, there are no limits to the number of teas you can try. And as part of Renku’s highly personalised service, tea is served by Renku’s affable tea masters, who’ll whip up the perfect brew and also help you select teas catered to your preferences. (Tip: they can create a blend just for you too).

If you’re in the mood for something more adventurous, check out Renku’s exclusive Durian Lapis tea that’s earthy without being overwhelming, or the fruity Mango Sticky Rice. There are also smoother concoctions available, including the oolong-based The Moon Represents My Hearts, a winner for its aromatic blend of bergamot and Forget Me Not flowers.

High-tea arrives in a delicate multi-layered trolley for your admiration. While the menu changes constantly, expect highlights to include scrumptious butter English scones served with home-made marmalade, a medley of delicate sandwiches, and soirée of artisanal desserts, including the Yuzu Cream Cheese Mille Feuille.

Well, that’s just the day. For evening tête à têtes and making merry through the night, Renku transforms into an intimate, stylish setting for gatherings.

We recommend you kick back with Renku’s extensive bar menu with its selection of artisanal beverages and creative Asian-infused tipples. You could start with the exclusive tea-infused cocktails which includes rosella, citadelle original gin, cocchi Rosa, champagne and wild forest berry tea. Or check out some of Renku’s unique beers, such as the locally-crafted Bavarian lager and a green-tea infused Renku lager.

But whether you’re here by day or night, there are highlights aplenty in the the ala carte menu by executive chef William Tan, who is also the executive chef of the newly-revamped RISE restaurant next door.

With Chef William’s flair for modern European and Asian cuisines, you’ll find exciting creations here that subtly blend the two to brilliant effect. Don’t miss the Boston Lobster Hash and the Alaskan King Crab Dashi Jelly, or or a range of delectable snacks, including the Confit Five Spice Marinated Duck Leg Wrapped in Brick Pastry.
