Ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a warehouse overnight? Well, now you can experience it at Hong Kong's new Ovolo Southside, a former warehouse converted into a chic boutique hotel, in the middle of the burgeoning Southside arts district.
The 162-room industrial building is located in the South Coast, and much like its artsy neighbors, the hotel has its own gallery space and of course, a mandatory so-chic-it-hurts rooftop bar. Decor-wise, think minimalist aesthetics with utilitarian steel furniture, poured concrete floors and rough brickwork. While the ceilings are full of exposed steel water pipes and foil-clad air conditioning units, the views are of the Hong Kong cityscape and urban greenery.
This hotel has six room categories from Mini Twin to a Corner Deluxe, as well as a Mediterranean-style East-Asian restaurant CIRQLE, rooftop bar ABOVE and a 24-hour gym. Rates start at HKD 1150 ($189). For more info, visit their website.
