Broadway Beng fans should chiong for the tickets, because Sebastian Tan (aka Broadway Beng) is back for the ninth instalment of the show – this time with a full Hokkien performance.

Presented by Dream Academy, Broadway Beng – Fukien Special (a cheeky play on the word “Fukien”, meaning “Hokkien” in Cantonese) will run at Capitol Theatre for only three days from Oct 23 to 25. While previous shows featured a mix of English, Mandarin, and Hokkien, audiences watching this new instalment will be treated to 90 minutes of Hokkien classics bolstered by Tan’s signature flamboyant showmanship.

Expect the same, if not more boisterous stand-up comedy, music and dance as Broadway Beng shares comical anecdotes and observations about Singaporean culture and lifestyle. He is backed by a tok gong (superb) live band and his trio of sassy chio bus (attractive women): Denise Tan, Audrey Luo, and Sharon Sum.

So mai tu liao (don’t delay); the shows are expected to sell out.

Broadway Beng Fukien Special runs from Oct 23 to 25, 8pm, at Capitol Theatre. Ticket prices start from $78 (excluding booking fee), and are available at Sistic.
