Homegrown nightlife powerhouse Zouk is gearing up for the high-octane thrills of Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix week with an electrifying line-up of events, including a pre-party to get your engine going, a grand two-night circuit party to blow off post-race steam and even a dining pop-up with Michelin-starred credentials.

Dance your way through The Circuit
Coming in pole position to warm up partygoers on Sep 11 is Phuture Presents: Fuego, a continuation of a series first established in 2019 that goes heavy on reggaeton (Puerto Rican dance music that combines reggae with Spanish rap), dancehall and afrobeat.

Taking over the decks of Zouk’s Phuture for the duration of the pre-party are artistes Skilla and K Faith from Empire Collective, a local nightlife group known for their adrenaline-pumping beats and cutting-edge sounds.

The main act – aptly dubbed Unleash the Afterburn: The Circuit – follows just a week later with two heart-thumping nights back-to-back.

Stepping first to the stage on race weekend (Sep 20) is celebrated Dutch spinner and record producer Nicky Romero, a phenom in modern electronic dance music with bookings in international music events like Coachella, Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland.

With an impressive portfolio of viral hits such as “Toulouse” and “I Could Be the One”, and experience working alongside such heavy hitters as David Guetta and the late Avicii, Romero’s appearance at Zouk almost guarantees an electrifying performance to kick off a Grand Prix weekend for the ages.

Just remember to save some energy for the second act, happening the very next day on Sep 21, headlined by none other than the Singapore-born Alfy Ngor. You’ll probably know him better as DJ Wukong – a direct reference to his heavily Asia-influenced sound. Come ready to bop to the rising star’s signature flavour of oriental rave with viral hits like “Legend of Wong Fei Hung” and “Phoenix Rave”.

Refuel at a dining pop-up with Michelin-starred cred
With all the partying and race-centric excitement at every corner, it’s only right to prepare equally invigorating pit stops for mid-festivity refuelling. Enter Camphor, a one-Michelin-starred establishment coming all the way from Los Angeles to hold a dining pop-up throughout the tail-end of race week (Sep 19 to 22).

The French contemporary restaurant will take up residence at Zouk’s Japanese-themed speakeasy concept Here Kitty Kitty for the duration of the pop-up, where it will dole out a laid-back lunch featuring the bistro staple, steak frites ($65 per person, available Friday to Sunday), and a fancier prix-fixe menu for dinner ($160 per person, available Thursday to Saturday night). Highlights from the latter experience, curated specially for the Grand Prix, include Camphor’s progressive take on French fare like Scallop Demi Lune, Chicken en Farcie with Cabbage and Turnip and a sweet, refreshing Strawberry Citrus Milk to finish.

As there are limited seats for both lunch and dinner service, you’d best secure a reservation early here.
