Gourmet farmer’s market PasarBella has temporarily set up shop at Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, as part of the i Light Marina Bay festival. We visited PasarBella & Friends Go To Town on the opening night of the festival, and were rather impressed by what it has to offer.
Festival goers can expect an array of gastronomic treats from existing PasarBella traders—there are delicious macarons from Bonheur Patisserie, crispy pork roast from Keith Crackling Roast and fresh seasonal catch from Oceans of Seafood to savour, just to name a few. Plus, there are a couple of new stalls (PasarBella’s “friends”) to check out as well, such as B Bar by Bacchanalia, Jungle Beer, Swirls Bake Shop and Omakase Burger. And it’s not all just food—you can also purchase quirky lifestyle products from Goods of Desire, and (rather strangely) kiddie products from The Children Showcase.
The 26 stalls are all housed in a 22,000 sqm outdoor space, which stays true to PasarBella’s trademark rustic charm—the decor is fashioned from predominantly recycled materials, and traders hawk their wares from custom-made, open-concept modular containers. Also, wooden shipping pellets function as table-tops and seating areas—rather creative, we must say.
In short, we think that this convivial outdoor market is a great place to chill over a few drinks and some mouthwatering gourmet finger food. And, judging from the bustling crowd over the opening weekend, it’s quite apparent that many others feel the same way, too.
PasarBella & Friends Go To Town is on until March 30 at Marina Bay Waterfront. (Click the link for more info.)
