We stopped by Parkroyal on Pickering on Friday to check out the 3rd edition of the Art Apart Fair. The sprawling exhibition, occupying the 14th floor of the hotel, transformed the place into an artistic haven, with a total of more than 1500 art works from 150 international artists. The unique choice of venue was designed to provide audiences with a dynamic and intimate art viewing experience, enabling them to visualize the art pieces in a context that is closer to home.
There were so many artworks on display that we didn’t have time to view even half of them. We did, however, enjoy scrutinizing the pieces that we managed to see, such as Ridwan Nur’s “Shh…”, an interesting melange of Warner Brothers’ characters and anime figures, as well as Piotr Frolov’s whimsical creations.
The next edition of the fair is slated to run from July 18-20 this year, so be sure to save these dates in advance. More information about the fair can be found at www.artapartfair.com.
