Recreating the atmosphere of an ancient Chinese palace, Kai Garden is one of Singapore’s top Cantonese restaurants. For Chinese New Year, they’ll be offering menus that range from the seven-course “Harmony” ($98 per person) to the 10-course “Happiness” ($888 for a table of 10) and their most lavish option, the 10-course “Celebration” ($5588 for a table of 10). For classic Cantonese fare presented with modern artistic flair, look no further than Yàn at the National Gallery. After opening more than 400 restaurants around the world, PizzaExpress finally arrived in Singapore last year. For their first Chinese New Year here, they’re rolling out three special menu items. Usher in the Year of the Rooster with their festive dough balls with pineapple-pepper dip, spicy bak kwa pesto and classic garlic butter ($6); bak kwa pizza complete with pork floss, crispy prawn crackers and plum sauce ($28); and lucky mandarin dough balls dusted in icing sugar and mandarin orange zest then served with mandarin cream dip ($5).
