Just looking at the abundance of booze news in Singapore in the coming months is enough to make you woozy. We’ve got a week of craft beer, a beer celebration, wine and whisky tastings and even microbreweries in Singapore to check out.
Craft beer distributor Applehops, who’s famous for bringing in highly sought after and rare craft beer brews (including British, Swedish and American ones), will be hosting a Eureka! Beer Celebration at Red Baron. There’ll be bottled beers and beers on tap from Alesmith Speedway Hammerhead, Omnipollo Olympus Mons and more ($10 per glass), a live music program, a special food menu and more. Tickets are at $35 with a free branded celebration glass and two free beers. Jul 30
The Artful Brew
The Epicurean Market returns for its fourth edition at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, featuring 10 celebrity chef restaurants and personalities who’ll be making appearances at over 50 interactive master classes. The food festival will showcase gourmet produce, handcrafted cocktails and craftbeers from all over the world. Foodies can also grab the chance to raise the roof at After Parties (Aug 12-13) where celebrity bartenders will be serving up cocktails. Aug 12-14

The iBrew Challenge 2016 at
iBrew is where you’ll get to see brewers showcase the best of their homebrewing techniques and recipes. It promises to be bigger than last year’s with an increased selection of beer on tap. Guests can get a taste of their creations but don’t forget to vote for your favorite. They’ve also invited popular homebrewer, Jamil Zainasheff from Heretic Brewing Company. Tickets are priced from $52.50.

As everyone already knows, Savour 2016 will be taking place three times this year at Bayfront Avenue, each with its own theme and distinctively different choice of gourmet. The upcoming one in September will boast an all-new wine market with a selection of more than 400 labels of wine from places like South America, Spain and Argentina. Apart from wine tastings ($15 for 10 tastings), there’ll also be food from award-winning restaurants as well ($6 and $12). Sep 9-11
In conjuction with the launch of
DFS Terminal 2 Wines & Spirits Duplex, a whiskey festival is happening at Changi for seven weeks. Showcasing the largest variety of single malt in Asia Pacific, the store’s second level will be dedicated to whiskey offerings from over 60 international labels, with brands like Macallan, Dalmore and Glenfiddich. There are also complimentary tastings, master classes and food pairing sessions, brand ambassador guest appearances on Friday and Satuday evenings. A great reason to fly!

Oktoberfest is well on its way with a few places to check out before October. The annual event is celebrated at places like
Swiss Club Singapore, where they’ll have a giant tent set up on the sports field that can cater to about 2,000 people. They’re promising authentic German food like crispy pork knuckles, sausages and more.

In conjunction with their 18th birthday, paint the town red in traditional barbarian outfits while enjoying freshly brewed Paulaner Helles and Dunkles Bier, a giant pan filled with chicken steak, sauteed potatoes and mushrooms, and much more.

Singapore’s largest and most authentic Bavarian festival,
Oktoberfest Asia, is moving into a fully air-conditioned festival-styled marquee at the open field next to Tan Quee Lan Street. You can enjoy free flow beer from 6pm to 12:30am and chow down on a whole bunch of Gourmet Bavarian cuisine and local fare with an Oktoberfest twist.

Whisky Live Singapore is back this year with its whisky and spirit tastings. If last year’s booths from over 70 brands were any indication, we’re expecting this year to be as great. They’re promising the best whiskies of the world at one spot. You can also get to mingle with distillers and producers as well as sample exclusive whiskies, great food and try out masterclasses too. Gin Lane street part 2015
The fourth edition of the
East Imperial Gin Jubilee will bring its heavy dose of gin culture to Singapore after touring four other cities in Asia. The highlight of this year’s event is the Asia’s Best Gin & Tonic competition which will see 80 bars from the participating cities competing for the title. The Jubilee calendar also includes events like masterclasses, tasting sessions, pop-ups. All the usual suspects in the world of fine gin will be involved including Hendrick’s, Bombay Sapphire, and a lot more.
