Indie cinema The Projector is showing Taxi Tehran, a Golden Bear award-winning film about an Iranian taxi driver who discusses Iran’s mores with the various passengers who get in his cab.

The pre-festival to the Singapore International Arts Festival, The O.P.E.N finally opens today. There are tons of screenings, perforamcnes and exhibitions across 18 days, including films at The Projector and a photography exhibition The Arrival of Vasco de Gama by prominent Indian artist Pushpamala N.

The Tanjong Pagar Railway Station opens again for 15 Stations, an interactive walking tour of the now-defunct station. Once you download the app, you’ll be able to view the place through a series of interactive games, videos and photos.

As a part of the O.P.E.N. festival, BIOMASHUP is an energetic performance by Cristian Duarte explores the history of dance with lots of erratic movements and a live electronic soundtrack.

Emerging local artist and photographer Geraldine Kang presents her take on the boundaries between citizens and foreign workers through photography in Still We Walk on Fences.
LITERARY
Witty Japanese storyteller Shinoharu Tatekaway returns for Shinoharu Rakugo, a form of traditional Japanese entertainment from the 18th century. This time, he’ll be collaborating with local storyteller Kamini Ramachandran.
