Artist of “The Search” (AOTS) by Rip Curl

Held at Kult Kafé, this event mixes music, art and fashion. There will be a photography exhibition by surf magazine, BELLY and a presentation of Rip Curl’s new Autumn ’16 collection set to tunes by electronic pop funk quartet Disco Hue and DJs NEZ (Revision Music) and William J (Darker Than Wax). Jun 17

Aliwal Arts Night Crawl

Soak in the traditional vibes of Kampong Glam with contemporary art at the Aliwal Arts Night Crawl. Besides free performances, this Sarong Party themed party includes a batik trail, a flea market by The Local People, and a sunset community yoga session. Jul 30

FESTIVALS

Baybeats Festival

This alternative music event, is happening at the Esplanade, with 36 performances by veteran and new artists from Singapore and the region. Catch groundbreaking tunes from local music producer Mitch Advent, folk singer-songwriter Nicholas Chim, electro-group Canvas Conversations and more. The final eight local bands from the Baybeats Budding Bands program such as electro-synthpop group Disco Hues and alternative rock band Tell Lie Vision will also be performing. Juice Presents: Analog Assembly x Potato Head Folk ft. Yllis

Hosted by hipster paradise Potato Head Folk, vinyl collectors and lovers can shop at stalls by The Analog Vault, Barbershop Music, For the Record and Vinylicious Records. Groove as you search with music by electronic-pop artist Yllis,  Meow K,  Kid G and Darren Dubwise. Jun 25

Garden Beats Festival

The Garden Beats Festival returns to Fort Canning Park on Jul 30. The electronic picnic festival will have house music DJ Bakermat, known for having his own stage at TOMORROWLAND festival along with other acts like Autograf and MÖWE, Moodwax on its roster. There’ll be food from  MARCO MARCO, MEATliquor SIN and Lime Housegarden games like croquet and giant Jenga, social art installations and a Vaniday corner for face paint and Coachella-approved hair. POOL PARTIES

Summertime Madness

Up your party game at the world’s highest beach bash in the sky. At 1-Altitude’s rooftop party, you can expect a line-up of local band AJS, DJs Leonard T, Jack T and Lindo Martinez  as well as LED dancers, fire eaters and fire twirlers, dancing mascots and a whole lot of partying with sand and scenery.  There is a dress code of bikinis, bermudas, singlets and flip flops. Tropical Explosion and Vik Sohonie (Ostinato Records)’s Album Release Party

The release party will be held at Blu Jaz Cafe, promising a dancefloor of various types of music by Ostinato Records’s featured artists like Meringue, Kompa Kreyol, Vodou jazz, and electric folklore from Haiti by Tanbou Toujou Lou. You can even grab vinyl or CD copies of their compilation that’ll be available there before they are released worldwide. There’s an entry fee of $5 before 11pm and $10 after 11pm. Jun 17
