Monday, Aug 15

CONCERT
Legendary American alt-rock band, Weezer, is back in town, and you can expect one heck of a night, from classics of our time like “Say It Ain’t So”, “Buddy Holly” and “My Name is Jonas”, as well as new material. Tickets are $98-168 from Sistic. Aug 15

FOOD
The team behind theatrical dining experience AndSoForth is back with their latest interactive dinner sessions The Spy, The Thug, His Wife and Her Lover happening at a secret location. Diners will attempt to break out of “prison”, gather information and escape without blowing their covers. Tickets are at $88 here. Aug 6-Sep 18

FOOD
Artistry is partnering up with 78 year-old transgender woman Rose (you might remember her in this year’s Pink Dot campaign videos) who lives at the T Project, for The Giving Table, a special five-course home-style Tamil dinner. Proceeds will go to the shelter. Aug 15

FILM
Films At The Fort is back at Fort Canning Park and like last year, there will be outdoor screenings of award-winning films, and stalls selling gourmet grub. Through Aug 21

Tuesday, Aug 16

CONCERT
Led by vocalist Brendon Urie, Panic! At The Disco brings a mish-mash of everything from pop, punk, electronica to psychedelic and jazz with new album Death Of A Bachelor. Tickets are $98-$148 from Sistic. Aug 16

EAT
Contemporary Southeast Asian restaurant Ding Dong, previously on Ann Siang, has moved to a swanky new location on Amoy Street. If you’re nearby, try the meaty-and-firm hamachi sashimi served Thai-style ($18) or have a quick afternoon cocktail with your colleagues. Open 12-3pm and 6-12am daily. Aug 16

THEATER
The main segment of the Singapore International Festival of Arts will have highlights which include controversial stage production “Five Easy Pieces” by acclaimed Swiss director Milo Rau, plays like “Everything by My Side” by Fernando Rubio and more. Through Sep 17

WELLNESS

Centre 42 will be hosting Corrie Tan in the Living Room with Alfian Sa’at as they talk about writerly things. Don’t forget to register. Aug 17

DRINK
Spend hump day at Bago, which has an extended list of over 150 types of rum, with brands such as Caroni, Mount Gay, Diplomatico and more to boot. You should also try their bar bites like the jerk chicken skewers ($12) and jerk beef sliders ($12) in Jamaican sauce. Aug 17

ART
Singaporean artist Tan Choo Kai has a new collection, National Day Celebration, that’ll showcase his interpretations of natural landscapes and scenery on our fair island at Pan Pacific Singapore’s Public Art Space. Through Oct 31

Performance artist Salty/Xi Jie graces Kult Kafe’s Prototype Thursdays with a piece titled Falling In Love With A Stranger, which explores the themes of intimacy alone and with others, the boundaries of privacy and the collective imagination. Aug 18

Singapore Night Festival: KEYFRAMES by Groupe LAPS

FESTIVAL
The annual Singapore Night Festival, held by the National Heritage Board, is back for its ninth edition this year spreading over two weekends, promising a block party on Armenian Street, dazzling projections on heritage buildings and lots more. Aug 19-20, 26-27

PARTY
Cato’s the place to be on Friday, especially if you’re into counter-culture and music from both local and regional talents. Singaporean DJ Maurice Simon helms the deck and dishes out his flavor of techno and deep house beats. Aug 19

FESTIVAL
NUS’s biggest arts carnival is back and opens its doors to present a myriad of performance arts, film, open-mics and local acts. Headliners at the HERE! Arts Carnival include Charlie Lim, Mitch Advent and PennyLane: The Band. Aug 19

PARTY
Go disco dancing with your friends at Block Party. Organized by Gallery & Co., work those dancing shoes to the eclectic mix of disco music courtesy of veterans DJ KFC and Hookstyle, who’ll keep the party alive at the outdoor bar. Aug 19

ARTS
Masterpiece in Motion is Singapore Dance Theatre’s triple bill of ballet performances that’ll showcase only the best in international choreography. Choo-San Goh’s Schubert Symphony opens the night, followed by Edwaard Liang’s Age of Innocence. The night ends off with the premiere of Nils Christe’s Symphony in Three Movements, set to the music of Igor Stravinsky. Aug 19-20

PARTY
DJ Bhayology has been heading up the Tropical Temple parties for a couple years now, along with his partners in crime. Sadly he’s going on indefinite hiatus, and if you’re a fan, this sweaty dance party at Blu Jaz is your last chance to see him. He and DJ Kusto will be spinning Carribean, Latin and African tunes along with a bunch of other world beats. Aug 19
