The second edition of this month’s $100 Gourmet is here, with Chef Fliegauf making another appearance at The Waterfall with Marco de Vincentis until Nov 14.
ART
The Affordable Art Fair will showcase 86 local and international galleries and 600 artists. All works are priced between $100-$10,000, and Bistro 1855 is doing wine, cheese and quiche. The fair ends Nov 15.
MUSICAL
Michael Chiang and Dick Lee’s Beauty World opens today, with it’s coming-of-age story about a girl who enters a cabaret to find her long-lost father.
CONVENTION

BooksActually is launching Tan Lixin’s book, Before We Are Ghosts. You can discuss themes of closure and resisting change with the author, if you must.

DRINK
The Open Italian Wine Fair showcases some 40 international labels from 17 wineries. There will be a DJ spinning tunes—so hit the dance floor (but not if you’ve had a glass too many).
EXHIBITIONS
The nerdy-cool Large Hadron Collider exhibit opens today, with an interactive display of what goes on at the mysterious CERN in Switzerland, responsible for the discovery of the God Particle.
EAT
Meatliquor‘s anti brunch event, Eats, Beats & Treats (AKA ‘F*#< Brunch), is here again. There are comfort foods like sambal fries, mac and cheese and deep fried pickles. It’s $90 for a free flow of food, with an extra $30 for Champagne.
FILM
The Freedom Film Festival will showcase hard-hitting films, including “Living in the Drains”, a true story about a Filipino family who migrated to Sabah, along with other shorts from Malaysia.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Darren Soh’s breathtaking landscapes of Singapore, titled In the Still of the Night (While You Were Sleeping), are being shown at the Esplanade Tunnel. Check out our interview with him here.
THEATER
Christopher Fok and his crew are subverting fairytale tropes in A Twisted Kingdom. The protagonist is a fool who is looking for a kidnapped prince, and in doing so, has to face his inner demons and some childhood trauma.
PARTY
Five of Ce La Vi’s resident DJs (Ya5th, Surenm, Deepak, Styluxtakut Andrew T) are going to spin till dawn at Radiostar All Stars. There will be Top 40s hits for the mainstream crowd.
MUSIC
Aussie musician Andy Hart is in town to play his really chill house mixes at OverEasy. Relax and enjoy.
WELLNESS
There is a Sunset Bossa Flow Class, where you can do yoga and unwind with Bossanova music (obvs).

It’s not too late to catch The Spirits Play, which was written by the grandaddy of theater, Kuo Pao Kun. In it, five spirits talk about how they have suffered during the war.
FILM
Catch the last few screenings of The 19th German Film Festival before it’s over. One of the films is Head Full of Honey, which documents a girl coping with her grandfather’s dementia.
FLEA MARKET
There is a Christmas market at CHIJMES. It’s probably a good idea to get some presents before the mad holiday rush.
