23 awesome things to do in Singapore this post-F1 week (Sep 18-22)

<p>Rubber has burnt, roads cleaned and barricades taken down. The lights are out for this year&rsquo;s F1 season and Singapore sighs with relief. Dust yourself off and pick yourself back up this week with some low-key (we all know how fun and debaucherous the weekend was) and soul-enriching exhibitions, film screenings and the start of RWS&rsquo; Great Food Festival.</p>

After the F1 weekend, slow things down with English indie folk singer-songwriter Lucy Rose. With three studio albums under her belt, she&rsquo;ll be screening the accompanying documentary to her latest album, <em>Something&rsquo;s Changing</em>, at her <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/934196016683644/" target="_blank"><strong>Lucy Rose Cinema Tour</strong></a> at The Projector. <em>Sep 18</em></p>
<p><strong>EXHIBITION</strong><br />
Singaporean visual artist Juls presents her first solo show <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/255814938263690" target="_blank"><strong>Automarktic</strong></a>&mdash;an ongoing investigation of marking patterns, strokes and techniques presented in what basically look like large-scale doodles on crack. But there is method to her madness; the 10 featured pieces, done on mediums ranging from marker to paint, are created by automatic drawing (hence the exhibition name) and through observation. <em>Through Sep 23</em></p>
<p><strong>ART</strong><br />
Looks like it&#39;s Silver Seniors September, as <a href="http://sg.asia-city.com/events/news/be-entertained-singapores-best-senio… target="_blank"><strong>Silver Arts</strong></a>, Singapore&#39;s only festival dedicated to the well-being of seniors, returns for its sixth edition with a line-up of performances involving more than 80 veteran artists, senior talents and art groups. <em>Through Sep 24</em></p>

The popular Singapore Restaurant Month is now a full-fledged festival, thanks to the Restaurant Association of Singapore bringing together more than 200 chefs who will be preparing a locally-inspired dish at their respective eateries for the very first <a href="http://sg.asia-city.com/events/news/popular-singapore-restaurant-month-n… target="_blank"><strong>Singapore Restaurant Festival</strong></a>. <em>Through Sep 30</em></p>

Ahead of co-working space The Hive&#39;s inaugural Shorties film festival in Nov which will spotlight the local filmmaking scene, they&#39;ll be screening a series of films that they love in the coming weeks. This week, catch the hilarious New Zealand comedy-drama film <em><a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/151481112101233" target="_blank"><strong>Hunt for the Wilderpeople</strong></a></em>, which follows a boy and his foster father who become stranded in the New Zealand wilderness, causing the authorities to go on a manhunt to look for them. <em>Sep 19</em></p>
<p><strong>MUSICAL</strong><br />
Touted as &quot;Broadway&#39;s greatest dance musical&quot;, the international award-winning <a href="http://sg.asia-city.com/events/news/one-world-best-broadway-musicals-com… target="_blank"><strong>West Side Story</strong></a> comes to the MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands for a limited season. The musical is highly inspired by Shakespeare&#39;s <em>Romeo &amp; Juliet</em>, but set in the &#39;50s against the backdrop of a rivalry between two gangs in an Upper West Side neighborhood in New York. <em>Through Sep 24</em></p>

It&rsquo;s 2017, and if you think women don&rsquo;t have what it takes to be in the tech industry, you&rsquo;re on the wrong side of history.
