3 events you shouldn’t miss at the 2016 World Gourmet Summit in Singapore

The World Gourmet Summit is in its 20th year and from Mar 28-Apr 24, we’re looking forward to an exciting lineup of top Michelin-decorated chefs, talks and dining events hitting our shores.

On Mar 29, Open Farm Community is presenting a six-course wine dinner with wines from South Australia’s Ochota Barrels paired with dishes made from fresh produce from the restaurant’s urban garden. Winemaker Taras Ochota will be in attendance. At Chope Presents Times 30s on Hong Kong Street (Apr 3), the area’s cool cats are coming together for a back alley block party. Expect food and drinks by 28 HongKong Street, FOC, Bacchanalia, Vasco and The Butchers Club. Those more interested in a little food for thought might want to check out WGS 20 Best Chefs (Apr 16-17), a talk with some of the world’s top chefs debating whether local talents are receiving the recognition they deserve.

Of course, some of the biggest draws are celebrity chef guest appearances. Chef-owner Reto Mathis from Switzerland’s St Moritz (a celebrity hotspot) will be coming down, as are Michelin-starred chefs Yoshinori Ishii of London’s Umu and Nacho Manzano of renowned Spanish restaurant Iberica, among others.
