Wine might have taken a bit of a back seat while craft beer, fine spirits and bespoke cocktails fight for the limelight in Singapore, but there’s nothing quite like a good glass of vino. If you oenophiles feel left out, don’t worry, there are three big events coming up to satisfy your grape expectations.
Top Italian Wines Roadshow (May 16)
Organized by Italian food and wine magazine Gambero Rosso, the Top Italian Wines Roadshow returns to Singapore for its fourth edition next week. Representatives from more than 60 big-deal Italian wineries will be on hand at CHIJMES to showcase close to 300 different wines at this one-day-only event. World of Wines 2016 (May 29-30)
The Coliseum at Hard Rock Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa, will play host to this year’s World of Wines. Organized by Magnum Spirits and Wine and their e-commerce arm, 75cl, the event features an eclectic mix of 200 wine labels from an international line-up of 20 wineries. Admission to the public is free on May 29 (4-9pm) while industry professionals will be welcomed for a trade forum on May 30.
Merchants Hawker Wine Safari (Jun 23 and Jul 21)
If you missed out on Merchants Wine Store’s first Hawker Wine Safari on May 5, fret not, at least two more events have been planned. Described as an “Anthony Bourdain style adventure”, the safaris will take guests to a secret location where they’ll get to pair local hawker favorites with boutiques wines. The Jun 23 events kicks off at Merchants’ Duxton Road outlet while the Jul 21 event begins at their Joo Chiat Road outlet.
