Chang Sensory Trails will be returning to Singapore from Jul 7-8 and we now have more details on this year’s event. Taking place at The Promontory at Marina Bay from 4pm to 10:30pm each day, it promises to be a weekend of all things Thai, from food to beer, art and live music. Here’s why we’re looking forward to it.
It will bring together some of Singapore’s best Thai restaurants
Singapore has no shortage of Thai restaurants, but there are some that stand out from the crowd. Twelve of them will be at Chang Sensory Trails: Aroy Dee, Folks Collective, Gin Khao, Long Chim, Longtail, Nara Thai Cuisine, Patara Fine Thai Cuisine, Sa-Yum Dining Room, Talay Thai, Tamarind Hill, Thai’d Me Up Restaurant & Bar and The Thai Society.
And this list of restaurants is curated by two of Thailand’s top chefs
The 12 restaurants at Chang Sensory Trails this year were selected by Duangporn “Bo” Songvisava and Dylan Jones—the chefs behind Bo.lan, ranked 19th on the 2017 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. The dishes presented by these restaurants will draw inspiration from the duo’s memories, revisiting their travels and culinary journey thus far. Songvisava and Jones will also be on hand to host a by-invite-only Chef’s Table experience.
There’ll be plenty of fringe activities
On top of the great food and all the Chang you can drink, Chang Sensory Trails is also a celebration of Thai art and culture. Visitors can expect live music and interactive art installations; and they can get their portraits drawn by caricature artists.
Chang is collaborating with an eatery at Golden Mile Complex
Popular for its Thai food and infamous for its nightlife, Golden Mile Complex has quite the reputation in Singapore. As part of the lead up to Chang Sensory Trails, Chang has teamed up with Nong Khai, an eatery at Golden Mile, to give it a facelift. The new space has a modern bar counter and a street art mural, but will still serve authentic northeastern Thai cuisine.
