There’s a queer arts festival happening in Kampong Glam this month

Singapore’s LGBT scene has been getting quite a bit of attention lately, what with the screening of LGBT films in Singapore, Pink Dot’s viral videos (and the huge turnout on the event day), and a Singapore queer film  which snagged an award at LGBTQ film festival in the Palm Springs. Now, Artistry is having their own queer art festival aptly named, ArTITstry on Oct 29.

The event will showcase a group of talented Singaporean women artists who will present their work, such as poet Steph Dogfoot, a regular on the local literary scene who’s won national poetry slam championships in Singapore and the UK; duo Amanda & Zsa, who have toured in Japan before, will be strumming a collection of acoustic tunes; Deonn Yang, who was part of the Spoken word series Speakeasy #22, will be performing her stand-up comedy routine; and artist skL0 (Sam Lo) will be selling her street pack which features tongue-in-cheek stickers, enamel pins and more. Also, if there’s something you’d like to want to say, feel free to go up on stage during their open mic session and go crazy.

Grab some friends and have a casual get-together while enjoying the work from our local women artists at Artistry. RSVP here. Admission is free.
