The Aliwal Arts Centre‘s annual Aliwal Arts Night Crawl is back once more and this time with the theme of Sarong Party. The iconic Kampong Glam event, as you probably already know, features a night of free performances and activities and this year’s will be a mix of traditional and contemporary arts.
The Sarong Party crawl will have a batik trail which will explore the history and culture of batik motifs. There will be a flea market too in collaboration with The Local People situated at a car-free carpark offering locally made arty trinkets. If you’re in the mood to see how far your sarong can stretch, you can also try out their pop-up sunset community yoga session by The Yoga Co in Aliwal Street before the crawl begins. There will also be performances by talent from program partner, Lush 99.5FM.
The Aliwal Arts Night Crawl is happening Sat, Jul 30 from 5pm onwards. Don’t forget to come dressed in your best sarong.
