Block parties in Singapore are showing no signs of slowing down. Another edition of the Carribean street party at Jiak Chuan Road by Lime House happened last week, and yesterday we wrote about good old Tan Boon Liat jumping on the bandwagon. Turns out, another nightlife hotspot is getting in on the action.
The Spa Esprit Group are throwing an Amoy Street block party on Nov 20. The lifestyle group owns Ding Dong and Bochinche, which both recently relocated to the street–a kind of hello-to-the-hood kind of party, then. Now, even on a regular night, Amoy Street can feel a bit like a block party, so we can’t wait to see what they do.
Though the full line-up is still under works but what we know is that there is going to be a delicious collaboration with restaurants in the area. Expect hole-in-the-wall Gemmills and Maggie Joan’s to be part of the line-up, too, as well at ever-packed Employees Only and Burger Joint. There will also be local and international music acts, including DJ KFC and UK-based DJ Roscius and though the party ends at 10pm, revellers can head to Ding Dong for the after-party that goes on till late.
