If raw, gritty street photography is something you enjoy doing, then mark Apr 1 down on your calendar. The sixth edition of the annual, global #24HourProject will be taking place that day, where participants will embark on a quest to update their Instagram accounts every hour for 24 hours straight (and no, this is no April Fools’ Day hoax), in an effort to document everyday life.
First founded by photographers Renzo Grande and Sam Smotherman, this year sees the movement expanding to 109 countries, over 2,300 registered photographers at last count and exhibitions in 11 cities including Sydney, Los Angeles and Finland. What’s more, Lesvos Solidarity, a refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesvos, will benefit from all proceeds from photos or photobooks.
