From Sep 25-27, Gillman Barracks celebrates its third anniversary with talks by artists and curators from the Michael Janssen and Sundaram Tagore galleries. Performance artists like anGie Seah, Yan Jun and Amanada Heng will be staging their works, while artist Sookoon Ang will present her sculptures developed under a mentorship program called the Platform Projects’ Lohia Mentorship Series.
If that’s too arty-farty for you, there’s stuff for pretenders, too: come for the music by local jazz and soul funk band The Steve Mcqueens, and indulge in some Middle-Eastern food from various pop-ups at Souk Out. Check out the Army Kinema Market that features local designers and retailers like Basheer Graphic Books and Supermama. Night owls should stay for the afterparty with DJ collective Darker Than Wax.
There are also the Art & History Tours as well as History & Heritage Tours by the Friends of The Museums on Sep 26 and 27.
