The 14th edition of this music festival is back this Jun 26-28. Alongside 28 local bands performing, seven regional bands will also be taking to the stage playing everything from folk to punk and electro at the Esplanade.
Of course, nothing quite escapes the SG50 grasp and this year, Baybeats is rounding up the local music vets with bands like TypeWriter, SURREAL and The Fire Fight. A joint effort with local record label Wake Me Up Music, they’ll be putting out a mixtape that tells their stories. There will also be an exhibition about the journey of Baybeats and Singapore’s alternative music scene. Don’t worry, all bands will be involved in the nightly performances.
Veteran bands aside, it will showcase emerging artists like soulful singer-songwriter Theodora, alternative rock outfit Cadence and Vessel, electronic post-hardcore band Aquila Vasica. The line-up also includes Pleasantry, Caracal, ANECHOIS and Take Two. More deets here.
