Beer fans, get your calendars out for these exciting events

Oktoberfest may have come and gone too soon, but don’t fret, beer lovers. We hear you. Coming up in the next couple of weeks are a few beer-centric events to get you going this holiday season, so grab your buddy because it’s going to be beer o’clock until the new year hits.

Good Luck Beerhouse opening party (Nov 26)

Haji Lane is getting its first craft beer house, and they are throwing an opening party. The hip and cozy place which sports a vintage and rustic vibe will house over 50 varieties apple ciders, craft beers from local and international brewers, like the Zeffer apple ciders, Yeastie Boys’ pot kettle black beer, Stone’s arrogant bastard ale and citrusy wit, and a selection of dim sums to go along with them. There will be a free flow of craft beer from 4-6pm.

End of the year beer pong tournament (Nov 26)

Beer pong will always be one of the most classic alcohol related games to play. If you want to test your beer pong skills, or just have a nice night of playing beer pong along with your friends, then take part in the tournament hosted by Prince of Wales. The winner will receive a $100 F&B voucher along with a bucket of beer. If you like beer pong and if you think you’re good at it, then gather your friends and prove it to the rest.

Beer appreciation and networking event (Dec 3)

Meet like-minded people over beer and canapes at this networking event where you get to try out different types of craft beer. If you’re a noob, participate in one of their beer workshops to understand what beer is all about. Tickets are $55 a pop, and includes four craft beer tastings and canapes.

Beer Run ORTO (Dec 17)

If you’re looking to try drinking beer and running long distance at the same time, try the one-off Beer Run ORTO which is having its inaugural event at ORTO’s promenade. Taking its cues from beer mile events from across the globe, the event asks participants to cover 1.8km consisting of two laps of 900m each. The catch is you have to finish a pint of beer after your first lap. There will also be other beer-centric activities like a beer pong tournament and team chug, which rewards you with beer coupons. But to be clear, it’s only half a run. The other half is a party.

Craft beer advent calendar

Thirsty, one of Singapore’s leading craft beer sellers, has created a fun way to countdown to Christmas this year. The “craft beer advent calendar” is basically a carton of 24 different craft beers placed in 24 different compartments with the dates leading up to Christmas written on it. So you’re supposed to drink one bottle a day starting on Dec 1, and by the time you’re done with it, it’ll be Christmas Eve. Exciting.
