We’ve already had our fair share of blocked roads turned into exciting party venues with nothing but great vibes, delicious food and drinks, silly dancing and banging tunes. And despite Singapore’s infamous sweltering heat (and sometimes downpours), we continue going for these block parties because they rarely disappoint. Even the government hopped on the bandwagon some time last year. While large-scale events like i Light Marina Bay and Singapore Cocktail Festival are happening at the same time, hit the streets for a roaring good time at these block parties happening in the weeks ahead.
Summerdaze Block Party (Mar 19)
The open-air party at the not-so-hidden-anymore bar behind The Projector will feature Singapore-based DJs like Senja & Rah from Revision Music, Ramesh K, resident DJ at Ce La Vi, Roco & Orio from Fat Fish Familia and more. Joining the other DJs are hip hop outfit DJ Shortkut, Skratch Bastid from Canada and DJ Martin from Wu-Tang FM. Park Bench Deli will also be there to serve their signature American sandwiches from day to night. On top of the good vibes and music, you can also shop for some preloved items from The Great Singapore Garage Sale. Tickets are $20 (early bird) and $30, which includes one alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink.

After Dawn: BBQ Block Party (Mar 26)
It’s been almost two years since Kilo threw their inaugural daytime BBQ block party. And now, they’re back to do it all over again. They’ll be preparing a variety of BBQ delights and while you wait, dance to the tunes of DJs Maurice Simon, Mr. Has, Brendon P and Oliver Osbornes. But to make sure that you’re never idle at the party, Kilo has collaborated with The Local People who will be bringing in vendors like Fayy, who’s known for their printed terrariums; WoodLove SG for their handmade wooden crafts, and Siam Yen who’ll be serving up milk tea and showcasing their various Thai products for a mini flea market of sorts. There’s also a 45-minute s tring art workshop hosted by craft-making school Kraft Imp, where you’ll be taught the ropes on how you can make your own masterpiece.
