Involving booze, art supplies and a bevy of out-there cabaret and performance artists in their strangest outfits, the Singapore chapter of the Dr Sketchy live drawing series was one of our favorite recurring events at Artistry. What’s not to like about drawing a prominent arts scene personality with our rudimentary art skills while chugging beers and being entertained by series host Becca d’Bus? That’s why we’re thrilled the series is back from a long hiatus, at a brand new location overlooking Kallang Riverside Park.
This comeback edition of Dr Sketchy, which will be held at its new home in Gnossem HQ (on top of Kilo) on Sep 28, features Mistress Anja, a young Singapore-based dominatrix who offers “dominating services” for both men and women across the region. She’ll be dressed in her usual dominatrix get-up, bringing with her a lot of latex, a lot of skin and a lot of “tools”.
There’ll be plenty to work with, so bring your art supplies and may the best sketch win. Well, technically it’s not a competition but the organizers will gift the most visually appealing sketches with a token of sorts (you might be better off losing!).
