Day of the Dead parties coming up in Singapore next week

It’s Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, in Mexico on Nov 1, an annual holiday to celebrate the departed. In Singapore, apparently, we observe it by drinking and dancing. Here’s where.

Kinkilicious (Oct 29)

After-works drinks spot and Japanese izakaya Kinki is throwing a Day of the Dead party with their Halloween edition of their Kinkilicious party series, with the all-lady DJs of ATTAGIRL. DuriO and A/K/A SOUNDS will also be helming the decks, spinning Latin pop, hip-hop and R&B. There will be make-up stations on hand to paint skull motifs on your face.

Day of the Dead Free Flow Brunch Party (Oct 30)

The new Spruce outfit Coyote is doing a free-flow Mexican food starting from tacos, nachos and quesadillas to chicken wings and burgers. Wash it all down with a free flow of drinks which include margaritas and beers. All this for $78 per person.

Beats, BBQ & Booze: Halloween Edition (Oct 31)

Kilo’s outdoor barbecue joint Camp Kilo is doing a Monday evening Day of the Dead party. Show up in your Halloween costume, and you get a complimentary beer or a cocktail. Other activities include beer pong, face painting and of course lots of barbecue and tequila, while you dance to the beats of old faithful DJ Oliver Osborne.

Dia de Muertos Singapore 2016 (Nov 5)

Under the auspices of the Mexican Embassy (so you know it’s legit), the semi-official Dia de Muertos celebration is taking place at Kult Kafe, with a series of both local and Mexican DJs, projection art and visuals, live art display, dance performance and of course Mexican food and drinks. This year they will be celebrating the legendary musicians who passed away in 2016.
