Concert Review: Eric Clapton Live in Singapore

Following his blistering last foray here in 2009, The King of Blues himself Eric Clapton summoned his fans (and some lovebirds) to the Singapore Indoor Stadium last night for yet another triumphant performance.
Those expecting Clapton to mellow down for V-Day and doing an unplugged set (just like he did for MTV in 1992) were sorely disappointed.
The man hasn’t lost any of his raw edge when he was jamming with his tight band of six musicians to classics and reworks such as “I Shot the Sheriff” and “Hoochie Coochie Man,” but it is his towering guitar works and emotive ballads like the timeless “Wonderful Tonight” and “Layla” that sent us into a meltdown.
Equal parts bittersweet, poignant, funky and rocking, this is a contender for concert of the year.
