Esplanade’s Annexe is hosting a massive two-day open house this month

Esplanade has been keeping their various spaces exciting with a myriad of activities, concerts, stage productions and more, as well as new plans which include building a $30 million waterfront theater that’s slated to open in 2021. Just last September, Esplanade turned the space that was once home to former nightclubs Embassy and DXO into a new informal, versatile performance and rehearsal space called Esplanade Annexe Studio, which has seen numerous local and international acts performs, and a bunch of local album launches. Come May 20-21, they’re hosting a massive open house that will bring a couple of F&B outlets from Esplanade Mall and local artists for a weekend of food trails, workshops, music performances and more.

The line-up of artists includes familiar names like Cyril Wong, Youth Poet Ambassador Pooja Nansi and Shivram Gopinath (of Party Action People). Together with two other performers, Stephanie Dogfoot and William Beale, they will be showcasing Spoken Word as part of Youth Poet Ambassador Programme.

Get your hands on uniquely-Singapore items like HDB-inspired stationery kits and porcelain novelty plates depicting various facets of Singapore life from Souvenirs From Singapore, a label by Supermama Store, or check out the crafty knick-knacks that’ll be on sale from the local community of Etsy sellers. There’ll also be workshops you can take part in, ranging from portrait drawing with Studio Haroobee to coffee appreciation with Suzette. And if you’ve always wanted to check out some of the current F&B tenants at the Mall, there’s a food trail you can join where you’ll be able to have a little taste of Alter EgoSupply & DemandNo Signboard Seafood and many others. On the music front, feast your ears to the sounds of local soul and funk band The Good Life Project, who’ll be launching their latest EP, Play Thing
