A film and Indian food pairing session in Singapore? Yes, please

The only thing better than catching a heart-warming and inspiring film and having a delicious meal, is doing it both at the same time. Come Jan 24, buzzing Keong Saik co-working space The Working Capitol is holding a Banquet of Stories where you can do just that.

For one night, two young men—a cook and a filmmaker—will be sharing their tales on the road through a series of short films and dishes made using recipes from their six-month stint across India, living in a fully-customized tuk-tuk. So far, they’ve used their own savings to go on a round trip from Italy to Singapore, travelling over 25,000km in 16 months to exchange food prepared by Guglielmo Sartor and stories, all of which are documented by Cameron Starr. On the menu for the night are insalata bohemienne, a salad of beetroots, mushrooms, mango, carrots, coconut, sesame seeds, onions and paneer; pork rib momo and chutney, a Tibetan-style steamed dumpling; A Goat in a Pit of Fire, roast goat legs cooked overnight and served with light biryani; and finally, bolo de rulao, a semolina cake from Goa that has heavyPortuguese influence and is served with yogurt.

Ticket proceeds will go towards funding the two young men in publishing a book of stories and recipes, producing a feature documentary and opening a kitchen studio. More info here.
