The Good Fellas Charity Market (Mar 28, noon-7pm)
The logic here doesn’t immediately follow, but bear with us: this is a menswear (and men’s accessories) fair organized in support of a women’s organization. Held by custom apparel retailer Marcella at CBD club Kyo, retailers at this one-day event will donate 20% of their earnings to the Association of Women for Action and Research in support of their work towards gender equality.
The Great Singapore Garage Sale (Mar 29, 9am-noon)
We don’t need to tell you about the charms of second-hand ware—vintage has always been a thing. Now you’ve got a legit reason to go through someone else’s once-loved items and call them your own, thanks to this garage sale that’s happening in the gardens area of the Goodman Arts Centre. 25 stalls will be peddling their used goods and will include everything from African handicraft and handmade candles to old-school typewriters, records and suitcases.
Page One Moving Out Sale (Mar 21-Apr 5)
Local book distributor and publisher Page One needs to relocate their warehouse (Kaki Bukit Techpark II, 20 Kaki Bukit View) and are throwing a huge sale as a result. Expect deep discounts of between 50 and 90%, with some books going for as low as $1. Getting there will be a bit of a schelp, but with deals this good it might be well worth the trek to stock your shelves. Open 11am-8pm on weekdays and 10am-8:30pm on weekends and public holidays.
Market of Artists and Designers (Apr 10, 5pm-midnight)
This monthly flea market doesn’t like to call itself a flea market—in fact, used items are not allowed here. A staple at the Red Dot Design Museum since 2005, this gathering of artists, designers, crafters, artisans, creators and brand owners is Singapore’s largest and longest-running “creative marketplaces”. Keep an eye out for the Organisation of Illustrators Council‘s Portraits After Dark series, where you can sign up to sit for portraits drawn by local artists.
Boutiques at the Pit Building (Apr 25-26, 10am–6pm)
Held twice a year since 2002, this is the first time this pop-up will last an entire weekend and has over 120 local independent brands covering women’s and men’s fashion and accessories, gifts and home decor. Also new: two themed areas (both fully-shoppable) The Lounge, a interior decor and homeware section featuring a wine bar, and a beach-styled area with resort wear and beach accessories. We’ll be honest, though: the major draws for us here are the culinary pop-ups: Violet Oon’s Kitchen will do a pop-up bistro, and indie cafe Artistry will provide caffeination.
